New medical school opens in Michigan

The Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine opened last week in Michigan, according to The Detroit News. The privately funded school is the first of three to open in Michigan over the next several years.

There are still concerns that the new medical schools will not help ease the physician shortage problem because the number of residency training slots has not changed.
