Program directors are responsible for a multitude of administrative details. This is not the reward¬ing part of the job. Included in these responsibilities are:

 

  • Prepare and submit yearly resident updates to the ACGME
  • Complete all required written documents required before a site visit
  • Provide verification of residency education of all residents
     

Additionally, program directors must obtain approval from your GMEC or DIO before submitting the following documents:

  • Changes in resident complement
  • Requests for a change in resident duty hours
  • Any major changes in the structure of the program
  • Progress reports requested by the RRC
  • Response to any citations
  • An appeal of an adverse action
