Consider asking yourself the following questions when writing answers on the PIF about the interpersonal and communication skills competency:
- In addition to daily contact with patients, faculty, and other healthcare providers, how does your program ensure that residents achieve competence in interpersonal skills and communication?
- How are residents evaluated and by whom?
- How are residents’ written communication skills monitored and evaluated?
