Sponsoring institutions that are considered covered entities must complete the ACGME Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH) Agreement, according to the organization’s Web site.
The new agreement is an amendment to already existing Business Associate Agreements (BAA) that many sponsoring institutions already have with the ACGME. The amendment addresses the new regulations mandated in the HITECH Act.
For more information, including a FAQ and a copy of the amendment, visit the ACGME Web site.
