Create a toolbox for teaching and assessing handoffs

With more research showing that handoffs are essential to patient safety, the pressure is on for GME training programs to teach residents handoff techniques.
Despite this call to action, few tools exist for training residents on how to conduct and receive handoffs. The lack of resources may prevent programs from effectively teaching this important skill.
Developing a toolbox of educational activities and assessments will give your residents the training and skills they need to conduct handoffs and preserve patient safety.
