There’s a steady drumbeat pervasive throughout GME calling educators to engage in quality improvement (QI) projects that enhance patient care and reflect the excellence and value of residency training.
Educators at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA, have answered that call by developing a robust process for surveying residents to ascertain compliance with ACGME standards and education quality.
These data are linked to a quality index, which allows GME leaders to enhance and monitor program quality, say project leaders Keith White, PhD, assistant education director, and Elisabeth Bennett, PhD, director of education at Baystate.
