Duke University Medical School offers residents business training program

Duke University Medical School is one of the first to offer residents a training pathway focused on business. The program is called Management and Leadership Pathway for Residents.
The program is designed for residents with a graduate degree in business and health care administration, and it will prepare them to take on roles such as assistant medical director of a service line or assistant operating officer of a clinic or hospital.
Residents participating in the program will work with senior hospital leaders on initiatives at Duke Univeristy Health System. Curriculum includes the following topics:
- Health System Management and Operations
- Financial Management and Planning
- Quality Improvement and Safety
