Last week I was lucky enough to attend the 2009 ACGME Educational Conference in Grapevine, Texas. As always, it was a pleasure to meet Residency Program Alert and Residency Manager Blog readers in person and hear what you’d like me to cover in the newsletter and blog.
I attended several informative sessions ranging from duty hours to the ACGME portfolio project, and the coordinators’ town hall sessions. I also enjoyed myself at the welcome reception on Thursday night where I did attempt to eat the chili served in a Fritos bag.
Although I didn’t venture out to downtown Grapevine, I heard many attendees enjoyed the restaurants, boutiques, and antique shops.
Check out Residency Manager Blog for some interesting tidbits I picked up at the conference, including information on duty hour changes, whether the ACGME portfolio will be required for all programs, and more.
Best wishes,
Julie McCoy
