The 2009 ACGME Resident/Fellow survey is open for trainees to complete, the accrediting agency said in an announcement on their Web site.
Every year, residents and fellows in core specialty and subspecialty programs take the survey sometime between January and June. Respondents answer questions regarding their programs’ compliance with ACGME standards. During a site visit, field staff will ask program directors, faculty, trainees, and other key staff about any red flags identified on the survey.
When it is time for residents or fellows in your program to take the survey, the ACGME will contact program managers with specific instructions for accessing the survey and to give your institution a deadline. Those programs with a 70% or higher response rate will receive a report of the survey responses.
