When programs use 360-degree evaluations to their full potential, the results can be powerful enough to generate major changes in your program’s culture and in the resident under review. However, not all programs are getting the most out of their 360-degree evaluations.
Robert Higgins, MD, cardiothoracic surgery program director at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, and James Burke, PhD, director of Performance Management Group, a university-based consulting group, advised participants on effective use of 360-degree evaluations during their presentation at the 2008 ACGME Annual Education Conference in March.
