Canadians focus on patient safety

At the recent New Brunswick Healthcare Association conference in Fredericton, New Brunswick, patient safety emerged as a growing concern, according to The Daily Gleaner.
In the future, the Local Regional Health Authority will provide information on a country-wide indicator on mortality rates by facility, and The Atlantic Institute of Marketing recently announced plans to provide report cards on New Brunswick hospitals.
A recent Canadian Institutes of Health Research and Canadian Institute for Health Information found one in 14 patients suffers from an adverse event.
