MRSA on the rise outside of healthcare settings

Patient Safety Monitor: Global Edition, October 30, 2007

A recent Journal of the American Medical Association report concludes that methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infections contracted outside of healthcare settings, such as in prisons or locker rooms, are on the rise.

Currently, 85% of MRSA infections are healthcare-related, according to the study. For access to the study, click here.
