Australia's overworked doctors feel they cannot provide adequate care

Patient Safety Monitor: Global Edition, October 2, 2007

In Victoria, Australia, a ministerial review of the medical workforce ordered by a former state health minister found that stressful working condition have lead to overworked doctors who feel they cannot provide the best care for their patients, according to The Age.

The strain, mostly caused by overcrowding and lack of staff, is causing doctors in the public sector to move into the private system. The Australian government rates Victoria as having the best health system in the country.
