Physician groups are opposed to the Massachusetts Public Health Department's proposed regulations for in-store health clinics, saying some of the regulations pose a patient safety risk, according to The Boston Globe.
The Massachusetts Medical Society pointed to several elements as potential problems. For example, the regulations will not require the clinics to have their own sinks, instead allowing them to use existing sinks in the store.
The pharmacy chain CVS is a major proponent of the new regulations, saying the clinics offer patients flexibility to be seen and treated quickly.
