IN hospitals report on 2006 errors

Indiana's medical centers reported 85 preventable medical errors to the state's Department of Health, according to the Indianapolis Star. The report was for errors made in 2006.

Bedsores were the most common error reported (26 incidents), followed by foreign objects left in surgical patients (23 incidents). Reporting rates were low, with only 28% of participating hospitals making a report, according to the Star.
