The six hospitals of the Indianapolis Coalition for Patient Safety have seen improvements in key patient safety areas after working together to solve the problems, according to an Indianapolis Star article.

The collaboration has reduced the rate of ventillator-associated infections and respiratory and cardiac failure through rapid response teams. Other measures included using a standard procedure for marking surgical sites. Previously, the hospitals all used different procedures, which could lead to confusion among patients and staff that visit or serve at more than one hospital.
