Joint Commission International to work with Chinese Ministry of Health

Patient Safety Monitor: Global Edition, August 7, 2007

Joint Commission International (JCI) announced last month that it would be working with China's Ministry of Health to expand patient care services. This initiative will take place in hospitals, laboratories, and clinics. The partnership looks to establish standards-based guidelines with research entities, like universities and non-governmental organizations, for medication management and information management, among other topics.

JCI hopes to translate its standards for the Chinese Ministry of Health to distribute to various health facilities. It also hopes to deliver training materials and tools to prevent the spread of infectious diseases, specifically AIDS.
