Staff members at John Dempsey Hospital at the University of Connecticut (UConn) use a good catch system to prevent errors before they happen, according to the UConn Advance.

Staff members who spot a potential error and report it are nominated for recognition, according to the Advance. Awards are given out every two months and include a pin workers can wear while on the job.

It isn't only medical staff that can participate; a facilities management worker was recently recognized after he spotted an oxygen line being pulled while a patient was being moved.
