Mount Auburn hospital in Cambridge, MA, has published its central-line infection rates, according to Boston Globe blog White Coat Notes. The move comes after Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center CEO Paul Levy challenged area hospitals to do so on his blog.

The hospital's performance is better than national averages, according to White Coat Notes. Mount Auburn CEO Jeanette Clough said transparency is "a double-edged sword," but that overall it was good to make information public.
