The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) has launched a new Web-based tool to help states measure healthcare quality. The site gives users a snapshot of where each state and region compares with its healthcare quality improvement efforts, according to an AHRQ press release.

Once a user selects a state, they see to a "state snapshot" page depicting the state's overall quality compared to the national average. Subsequent pages in each state's "snapshot" include the strongest and weakest indicators in the state and comparisons to national performance in specific quality performance areas, like diabetes treatment.
