Public reporting in Minnesota has more hospitals reporting adverse events, but deaths associated with errors are down, according to an article in the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Health officials said they are pleased with the results. The increases are statistically insignificant, according to experts quoted in the article.

The public reporting was expected to show an increase in errors as hospitals became more aware of what to report, according to the article. The reporting system uses the 27 categories of adverse events issued by the National Quality Forum.
