Routine testing can help find spreading cancers

As cancer patients survive longer with tumors, the chances of the cancer spreading to the brain increase. Some physicians say it's time to routinely use brain scans to catch and metastasized cancer as early as possible, according to an article in The Boston Globe.

The key is to check before the patient shows symptoms of a brain tumor, according to proponents. Other avenues, like new medications, are also being tested to help with metastasized tumors.
