Get ready for a JCAHO crackdown on employee safety. The accreditor has teamed up with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to educate the healthcare community about worker safety and health, according to OSHA.

The two organizations will provide education, compliance assistance, and education resources about biological and airborne hazards, emergency preparedness, ergonomics, and workplace violence.

"We're looking forward to working with both organizations, particularly on emerging occupational biological and airborne safety and health issues in the workplace," says John Henshaw, OSHA administrator. "Together we can make positive strides in ensuring that healthcare workers are armed with the tools they need to stay safe and healthy at work."
