Many hospitals still allow staff to smoke on site

The majority of readers who responded to our recent online survey report that their hospitals do not prohibit them from smoking on campus.

 

What we asked:

Does your hospital allow staff and employees to smoke?

 

What you said: 

 

>> 80%: Yes - Only in designated areas.  

 

>> 18%: No - Our campus is smoke-free. Staff must go off-site to smoke.

 

>> 2%: No - Not at any time during their shift.

 

>> 0%: No - We're so strict, we won't even hire employees who smoke.
