Nurses at Tufts Medical Center in Boston are holding a candlelight vigil on February 15, 2011 for what they consider a lack of safe patient care conditions, according to a Massachusetts Nurses Association (MNA) press release.

The nurses are calling for improvement in patient care conditions, specifically in regards to nurse staffing levels, which they say are currently unsafe. They say low staffing levels lead to unnoticed changes in patients' conditions, patient falls, and potential issues when a nurse floats to another department for which he or she may not have been adequately trained.
