After an inspection that showed possible contamination of surgical equipment, the John Cochran Veterans Administration Hospital in St. Louis halted surgeries indefinitely, reports Fierce Healthcare.

Hospital officials conducted the inspection following complaints about unsanitary conditions. The move comes after the hospital put more than 1,800 patients at risk for bloodborne infections after dental equipment was found to be improperly sterilized last summer.
