Joint Commission Center announces handoff communication solutions

The Joint Commission Center for Transforming Healthcare has developed a set of solutions to address the problem of failed handoffs in care.
The Center found that hospitals should use SHARE principals, which stand for:
- Standardize critical content
- Hardwire new methods into the system
- Allow opportunity to ask questions
- Reinforce quality and measurement
- Educate and coach
