New Jersey law makes hospital errors more transparent to public

New Jersey joins a list of states that by law requires hospitals to provide information about serious patient safety events as well as general performance on patient safety measures to the public, reports the Courier Post Online. Additionally, the bill bars hospitals from charging patients for services that result in a medical error. Officials hope the law will provide patients with information to help them make some of their own healthcare decisions.
