Newborn babies infected with MRSA, hospital trying to find cause

St. John's Riverside Hospital in Yonkers, NY, is investigating the cause for seven newborn babies becoming infected with Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) within the past month, reports The Journal News. None of the infants became seriously ill and their symptoms are being treated, the article says. All of the equipment in the nursery has been sterilized, and the hospital is continuing to reinforce its strict handwashing policy.
