Patient Safety Monitor: Global Edition, October 14, 2008
The United Arab Emirates launched an electronic database that will connect 15 hospitals and 68 clinics in Dubai and the northern region of the country, according to ArabianBusiness.com.
Physicians can now have instant access to files in the database. The country's health ministry hopes the system will reduce lengths of stays for patients and cut medication errors. The initiative is to be completed in 2011, according to ArabianBusiness.com.
