Limitations on Toronto hospitals during SARS outbreak did not harm patients

Patients hospitalized during Toronto's SARS outbreak in 2003 did not suffer from the temporary restrictions placed on the hospital at the time of outbreak, reports the Globe and Mail.
According to a new study published in the September 2008 Medical Care, patients hospitalized in Toronto for reasons other than SARS did not have higher death rates or readmission rates compared to other patients with similar conditions at other hospitals, despite restrictions placed on Toronto hospitals during the outbreak, such as limiting admission to the most seriously ill patients and cutting hospital transfers, reports the Globe and Mail.
