After C. difficile outbreak, Scotland to sends teams to survey infection control

After a deadly outbreak of Clostridium difficile (C. difficile), which included 18 deaths and more than 50 infections, teams of so-called "bug busters" sent by the Scottish government are routinely monitoring hospitals in unannounced visits to ensure infection control policies are followed, according to the Scotsman.
The bug busting teams will check that staff members are recording all cases of infections and that they are properly washing their hands, according to the Scotsman. Any hospital found failing to comply will have its name published by the government.
