U.S. health insurance companies team up to provide coverage overseas

U.S.-based BasicPlus Healthcare Insurance has announced it will include a series of accredited overseas hospitals in its most popular limited-benefit health insurance plans, according to CNBC.
The company entered an agreement with Companion Global Healthcare Inc., which has a network of Joint Commission International-accredited hospitals in place. Members of the plan will receive concierge medical travel services, including help with appointment scheduling and travel arrangement.
"To our knowledge, this is the first fully insured, limited-benefit product with a global healthcare benefit included," Robert Rhodes, CEO of TCC of South Carolina, told CNBC. TCC is the third-party insurance administrator that supports the BasicPlus product line.
