Canada: Experts argue the risk of imaging scans

The Canadian Association of Radiologists’ annual scientific meeting will devote much of its time to discuss radiation safety issues, reports Canada.com.
From 2003 to 2004, CT scan administration rose 8%, according to the Canadian Institute for Health Information. That number, some experts argue, could be a result of physicians who unnecessarily order such scans under pressure from patients or because they are unsure of a diagnosis.
