Japan’s hospitals to investigate fatal errors

Japanese health officials said they are revising regulations to require hospitals of a certain size to investigate suspected medical mistakes, reports the Mainichi Daily News.

The hospital must also provide an explanation to the victim's family. The government will also set up a committee to investigate such errors. The system is planned to be implemented in 2010, according to the Daily News. To read more, click here.
