Australia to introduce healthcare provider register

Physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers will have their names listed on public registers under a new plan proposed by the federal government in Australia, reports The Australian.
Australian Medical Association members are concerned the move would create an extra layer of red tape, ultimately undermining patient safety and interfering with the accreditation process, according to The Australian. The move would make it easier for healthcare workers to move within the country without having to re-apply for registration.
