China's physicians suffer from patient violence

Patient Safety Monitor: Global Edition, March 4, 2008

Reports from a survey of physicians concluded that the majority of China's doctors have experienced, or seen their colleagues experience, violence from patients or patients' families, according to the World Health Care Blog.

Xinhua, China's news agency, reported on the study, which, according the blog, also found 40% of physicians surveyed under severe stress, with 36% considering leaving the medical profession.
