Google tests waters of electronic health records

In a partnership with the Cleveland Clinic, Google will be piloting its electronic personal health records program, reports Tech News World. The program will involve use of Cleveland Clinic's personal health record program and a Google database. The theory is that the electronic system will allow patients greater access to their own health information as well as interact with doctors and pharmacies. This pilot program will test if putting patient data online will be secure.

Google is one of many companies to suggest a personal health record. Public opinion surrounding the topic is somewhat mixed, however, with many patients worried about online security of their medical information.
