New JCI requirement for 2008
Patient Safety Monitor: Global Edition, February 5, 2008
Hospitals undergoing Joint Commission International (JCI) surveys in 2008 are now required to submit a written report for those standards that receive a score of five or lower.
The requirement applies to the JCI's third edition of standards. The report is required within six months of the survey. A five on the JCI's scale indicates the standard has been "partially met." A zero indicates the standard has not been met, while a ten indicates the standard has been fully met.
