Australian health minister proposes hospital "report cards"
Patient Safety Monitor: Global Edition, February 5, 2008
The Australian Health Minister has proposed a plan that would require all Australian hospitals to submit performance report cards to receive federal funding, according to The Age. Federal and state health ministers agreed both public and private hospitals must publish performance reports so that they would be available to the public.
The content of such reports was not determined, but the requirement is intended to be a part of the Australian Health Care Agreements, to be signed at the end of June, reports The Age.
