WHO proposes new Patient Safety Solutions
Patient Safety Monitor: Global Edition, December 25, 2007
The World Health Organization's Collaborating Centre for Patient Safety, which is sponsored by The Joint Commission and The Joint Commission International, invited international healthcare providers and professionals to discuss the new set of Patient Safety Solutions, which aim to create practical global solutions to common medical errors.
The proposed Patient Safety Solutions address the following five topics:
- Prevention of patient falls
- Prevention of pressure ulcers
- Response to a deteriorating patient
- Communication of critical test results
- Prevention of bloodstream infections associated with central lines
The WHO Collaborating Centre for Patient Safety's Internet-based survey on the topics will help create the proposed solutions. To visit the survey, click here.
