Six months after APIC study, not enough being done to prevent MRSA

 A new study found that although 59% of hospitals have implemented MRSA prevention programs, 50% of respondents felt that their facility was not doing enough to prevent the spread of MRSA. The report, called The MRSA Prevalence Study, appears in the December American Journal of Infection Control

The Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology released a study in June 2007 showing that MRSA infection rate in hospitals was significantly understated. This follow-up study shows that 46 out of 1,000 patients are infected with MRSA throughout the country.
