WHO works toward medication access for poor

Patient Safety Monitor: Global Edition, November 27, 2007

The Intergovernmental Working Group on Public Health, Innovation and Intellectual Property recently met to develop a plan to ensure poor populations better access to medicines. The meeting involved 140 member states of the World Health Organization (WHO). The group discussed strategies to promote research and development to counteract diseases that disproportionately affect people in developing countries.
