CMS building meaningful use public health reporting database

Physician Practice Insider, October 4, 2016

CMS is creating a centralized database to help eligible professionals (EP) meet meaningful use requirements for public health reporting, the agency announced September 1. The database will indicate whether public health agencies and clinical data registries listed are able to accept electronic data.

Registries may join the databases between September 1 and October 31. Registries must indicate whether they are able to receive electronic data on the following public health reporting measures:

  • Clinical data registry reporting (2017, 2018)
  • Electronic case reporting (2017, 2018)
  • Electronic reportable laboratory result reporting (2016, 2017, 2018)
  • Immunization registry (2016, 2017, 2018)
  • Public health registry reporting (2017, 2018)
  • Specialized registry reporting (2016, 2017)
  • Syndromic surveillance reporting (2016, 2017, 2018)
