    How do you handle patient complaints? One at a time? Yes, that’s one way to do it. However, in these days of managed care and increasing government regulation concerning the way medicine is practiced, simply handling patients’ complaints individually as they come up may not be enough. Whether or not patients are satisfied affects you in a threefold manner: 1. Dissatisfied patients are less cooperative, less compliant, and less likely to return for care or refer their friends and relatives. Unfortunately, they are MORE likely to put you at risk for a malpractice suit.
