Communicate post-meeting info to your staff

Meetings are an effective way to communicate with staff members, plan strategies, and handle business. In many cases, even a short amount of time spent together can lead to a useful exchange of ideas or set a plan in motion. Unfortunately, for the most part, only those who attend the meeting in person are able to experience and share in the success of a successful get-together. After the meeting is over, the bigger challenge arises: How do you communicate what happened between those walls to the rest of the staff? How do you keep them updated and make them aware that a plan has been set in motion?

Although it might not seem to be the case, every staff member has a vested interest in actions taken at hospital meetings. With the use of email, fax, newsletters, or even bulletin board postings, communicate important information such as:

  • Board proceedings
  • Administrative changes
  • New programs
  • Upcoming meetings
  • New additions to the staff
  • Relevant healthcare news
