Site visit preparation for the healthcare team
HCPro's Weekly Update on the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®*, October 23, 2007
The site visit phase for the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program® (MRP) is the healthcare team's opportunity to express what becoming an MRP status facility means to them and how they were involved in the journey. The promotion of designation awareness throughout the organization is important to prepare the healthcare team to be comfortable when engaging with appraisers during the site visit. For example, the healthcare team should be prepared to discuss why staff nurses should be considered for this prestigious award and be able to give examples that demonstrate the excellent patient care outcomes that staff nurses deliver.
