More than 50 students from a Washington State nursing school have traveled the world to receive hands-on training and valuable field experience.

Using money from private gifts to fund the program, the University of Washington School of Nursing in Seattle, WA, is aiming to enhance students' awareness of the global healthcare community. Students interested in participating in the Dean's Club Special Scholars Program submit proposals on topics of their interest, such as cross-cultural understanding.

Upon acceptance into the program, students are eligible to receive up to $750 for North American studies or $1,200 for international studies, as well as school credit.
