Encourage professional development with Force of Magnetism 14
HCPro's Weekly Update on the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®*, September 25, 2007
Since its decision to apply for ANCC Magnet Recognition Program® designation in early 2006, Children's Medical Center in Dallas has been busy spreading the word to staff about professional development. The hospital began by holding a 12-hour day devoted to Force of Magnetism 14: Professional development to get the word out. The event was held in the main hospital auditorium and involved speakers from the professional development council discussing evidence-based practice and research updates. The day was rounded off by presentations from staff nurses on their nursing research posters, and advice for nurses interested in becoming certified and continuing their education.
