To support nursing professional development and bring expert speakers to students, a Tennessee medical center is establishing a nursing fund, The Murfreesboro Post reports.
The Friends of Nursing Fund at Middle Tennessee Medical Center (MTMC) in Murfreesboro, TN, is expected to help celebrate patient care while sponsoring on-site education programs and conferences by nationally recognized speakers. The speakers will visit the facility two to four times a year, allowing students to hear them speak without attending high-cost conferences. All nurses and nursing students in the region are invited to attend the forums.
To kick off fundraising for the nursing fund, MTMC is running the inaugural Murfreesboro Half Marathon on Saturday, Sept. 27. The facility's goal is to raise an initial $10,000.
